Whether it’s a one-on-one call or a call with several people, calls are a quick and easy way to connect in Teams. Set them up ahead of time, like a meeting, or start one on the fly while in a chat, for example.

There are several ways to make a call in Teams. Here are just a few:

  • • While in a Chat, select either the Video call or Audio call icon to place a call to the person you’re chatting with.
  • • On the Calls tab, select the Phone tab to use the dialpad to place a call to any number or contact you enter.
  • • On the Calls tab, select the Contacts tab to place a call to easily place your one the contacts you have saved.
  • • On the Calls tab, use the History area to place a call from your call history simply by hovering over the call and selecting the Call button.
  • • At any time, you can hover over a profile picture and see options to make a video or an audio-only call to that person. Choose one of those options and your call begins.

To answer a call, just select the Video call button or Audio call button, when prompted. When someone calls you, you'll get a notification that lets you accept or decline the call.
